Planning for Group 2’s trip to Capetown

Henry won’t be joining us for this leg of our upcoming trip, so I’m making the arrangements for Group 2 in Capetown.   Our flight arrives 7:10pm on Sunday evening, so we will hustle to get our rental van, drive to and check-in at our hotel, and find a restaurant at the V&A waterfront–lots of great choices for seafood or anything else you may want.  Monday we have a full day: a drive through the beautiful wine country, with two stops at wineries for personal tours (lunch at winery #2), followed by 2:50pm boarding for the boat tour to Robben Island.  We’ll get back about 6:30, in time to clean up for a 8:00 dinner and music at a fun restaurant: Mama Afrika’s.  Tuesday morning we will start our day with breakfast at the tearoom at Kirstenbosch Gardens.  Then we will head over to Groot Constansia for a look at a historic winery with more beautiful gardens, have lunch, and then take a long scenic drive down to Cape Point.  Watch for whales, walruses, and penguins!  Dinner that evening will be at Bo Kaap Kombuis at 7:00–wonderful views from this mountain-side Malay restaurant.  Our final day, Wednesday, will also be action-packed.  First thing in the morning, after checking out of our hotel, we’ll take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for breakfast.  After exploring the mountain top and taking in the breathtaking views, we will head back to the city to visit the District 6 museum and/or the Castle (a military fort/museum.  Then we head to the airport for lunch and our flights to Jo-berg and home.
